DIT has built on its research strengths in key thematic areas producing quality research and graduating research students of the highest calibre. Funded opportunities are sometimes available for students and / or researchers to work alongside experts in these fields and will be advertised here. Students may also apply for national and international funding or fund themselves in the pursuit of a postgraduate degree.

IRCSET funding for postgraduate students
The Irish Research Council for Science, Engineering & Technolology (IRCSET) is a national funding body that manages funding programmes aimed at researchers working in the fields of science, engineering & technology is currently offering posgraduate scholarships under its Embark programme. These grants are available to graduates with a First or Upper Second class honours primary degree or equivalent. If exam results are not known at the time of application then IRCSET may make a provisonal offer on condition that the final results are consistent with or better than those indicated on the application form.
